Tumblr posts not showing up in search

tumblr-posts-not-showing-in-searchOnce you have posted to Tumblr, are you having problems with the posts showing up in search? This is a common problem and it could be for a number of reasons.

Here are some steps to take to ensure your posts show up in Tumblr search.

1. Reblogged posts: The first issue could be to do with the reblogging of content. It is important to remember that reblogged posts do not show up in tracked tags. Only the first “instance” of a post will show up in tracked tags. If you diligently add tags to everything you reblog: that’s great, keep doing it if you have your own reasons, but remember that it won’t make the post magically reappear in people’s tracked tags.

2. First five tags:  The first five tags (and only the first five), will show up in people’s tracked tags. So, for instance, if you are posting a picture of a dog, and want it to be seen by the sorts of people who have dogs in their tracked tags, make dogs one of the first five tags you use. You need to keep in mind that if you put tag commentary in your first five tag slots it’s going to push the useful tags out to where nobody can track them. A great tip is to select your highest-priority tags first, then your thoughtsnippets.

3. Check privacy settings: This has happened to me twice believe it or not. Make sure you check your privacy settings. Go to settings and make sure you have private turned off!

How do you print screen on a mac?

Very simple:

  • Press the Apple key ⌘ + Shift + 4 all at the same time
  • You will see the cursor change to +
  • Drag a box around the section you want to copy and release the mouse
  • If you want, you can then paste this into something like Photoshop. You will also find a capture of the screen on your desktop again entitled ‘Picture _’

There is no print screen button on macs but despite this the mac print screen function is in fact much more advanced than Windows.
