Don’t just create ads – think about the customer journey

Lenovo-Mobile-Ad-UKThis type of marketing infuriates me. I’m not talking about the fact that Lenovo have placed an advert on my personal newsfeed. I’m talking about what happened when I clicked through. The outcome clearly indicates that Lenovo’s marketing team are so focused on spamming their products everywhere that they forget about the customer.

So first off, Lenovo have already annoyed me by placing an ad on my Facebook newsfeed. Due to fat thumb syndrome, I accidently clicked on the image and landed on a Lenovo landing page which advertised some of their new products. I decided to click on the ‘buy from retailer’ button which showcases stores including Amazon and PC World. And this is where the real angry side of me came out. Continue reading
